Cool Climate
The vineyard at Gordon Hills was established in 1999 on a ten hectare planting on the northern slopes of Mount Canobolas in Orange.
Formerly known as Burke and Hills, the Gordon family purchased the vineyard in 2008. The former owner, Doug Burke, must be recognized for establishing the vineyard using the best of everything. The best infrastructure, the best site and the best grape clones.
After two years of rehabilitation work the vineyard has produced a full 2010 vintage. Combined with the winemaking skills of Phil Kearney of Wallace Lane Winery, Gordon Hills Estate now has some of the finest cool climate wines.
The grapes are grown 900 metres above sea level enabling the fruit the benefit of the cool climate of what is now regarded as one of Australia's most desirable wine regions. Our wines showcase the pure and elegant flavours found in wines grown at these high altitudes.
